On the Road Again…
Can’t wait to get on the road again. Well, I am on my way to Maine this morning. This is officially our first family vacation together. I know what you are thinking, we just got back from vacation…yes we did, but that was just the kids and I. This time I thought it would be nice to invite the hubby.
We will be gone for a week, and no I will not be taking business on the road. We will be staying at ski resort called Sugarloaf. I am so excited, a week of fun in the sun with the family![]()
See ya in a week!

Oh how I love my super green smoothies. While I don’t always have the time nor patience to make them, you can bet I have some form of smoothie every morning as I sit down to check on my Urilife business. Whether it be a quick mix of Urilife The Feast with Beyond Berries and water or a good ol’ fashioned smoothie such as the one I am about to mention.
All Hale The Kale
1/2 Pineapple
3 Kale Leaves
1 ripe Banana
4 fresh mint leaves
2-4 cups of water
1. Blend kale and water first. 2. Add remaining ingredients and there ya have it!
With plenty of nutrient dense ingredients, is it any wonder why I drink this just about every morning? Do you have a super green smoothie recipe? I’d love to hear it!

Health, Raw recipes | Comments (3)Food of the Week: A flower, a fruit and a berry, huh?
I’m talkin ’bout pineapple! Most of you know that pineapples grow in the tropics such as Hawaii, but did you know that they grow in the center of a cactus like plant? Pineapple is actually made up of more than one flower atop of the plant. As they grow, they swell with juice and pulp expanding to become the “fruit“. Pretty cool, eh?
Pineapples belong to the Bromeliaceae family, from which one of its most important health promoting compounds, the enzyme bromelain, was named. In fact, pineapples are the only edible plant found in the Bromeliaceae family.
Studies haven shown bromelain to lessen inflammation and reduce types of swelling by blocking the production of kinins that form during injuries, disease and surgeries. Pineapple not only helps make for a speedy recovery during acute sinusitis, sore throat, arthritis and gout, but is also an excellent source of manganese, vitamin C, vitamin B1, copper, dietary fiber and vitamin B6.
Did you know that among the many benefits of vitamin B1 is its ability to increase blood circulation and provide a greater supply of oxygen to the blood cells. B1 is also know for aiding metabolism of carbohydrates. Between B1 and bromelain, pineapple is great for proper digestion!
Stayed tuned for more delicious facts about pineapple along with fun raw pineapple recipes too of course!

The kids and I are heading back to Rhode Island after a month long trip. While we are sad to leave our family, friends and beautiful views, we are excited to get life in order once again. Too bad we cannot fit it all in our suitcases to bring home with us!
We should arrive in Boston tomorrow around 5am. Talk about a red-eye flight! I am nervous to see how Riley does. Either he will sleep the whole flight or he will cry the whole flight, pray for me![]()
This is a photo I shot today of Standley Lake in Arvada, Colorado.
What a way to end a wonderful vacation!

“When it comes to love, you need not fall but rather surrender, surrender to the idea that you must love yourself before you can love another. What are Americans Eating?
Experts recommend eating at the very least 5 servings of vegetables a day, but according to the John Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health only 11% of Americans actually met this guideline in 2007. What’s that about???
What I find even more shocking is that deeply colored vegetables-whether green, orange, or red, make up only 0.2% of the 3.3 servings Americans consume on a daily basis. Most of us know how beneficial it is to add a few more veggies to our diets. The brighter the veggie the more rich they are in phytochemicals.
Phytochemicals help the body deal with substances called radicals which can damage our cells and tissue as well as our DNA. By eating more of these brightly colored, nutrient dense whole foods you are giving yourself a fighting chance against many diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and fibromyalgia to name a few.
If these veggies are so good for us, why according to the USDA are Americans most widely eaten vegetables the potato and Iceberg lettuce?

…what’s that??? I looked at the calendar today and realized that we have been going none stop for the last 25 days!!! Vacation…hmmmm, might need another one just to recover from this trip!
While we have been busy, we are having tons of fun too. We finally made it up to the Rocky Mountains on Saturday. There, we enjoyed the fresh mountain air with its views galore. The kids had a blast riding on the tractor, playing ball, fishing and to end the trip we went 4 wheeling in my uncles jeep.
Once we got home I received a call from my cousin who was on her way to the hospital to deliver number 3. So I got the kids to bed and rushed to the hospital just in time. I am so grateful I was able to be here for her.
You see, both of our mothers passed away unexpectedly 6 months apart from each other. It happened 5 years ago, but seems like yesterday. Her and I are more like sister, and I can’t help but feel that given the circumstances, my presence made a difference. Any how, the delivery went very well.
The last two days were spent recuperating. Let me tell ya, it was needed! Tomorrow we will drive up to Erie to see another uncle. On our way back I plan on driving through Estes Park to catch some more gorgeous views. I can’t wait to get home just so I can download all my pics to show you!
I’m trying really hard to see all of my friends, family, keep an eye on my Urilife business, visit all of the beautiful sites Colorado has to offer and drink The Feast so I have the energy to do so, but I am wondering…where did the last 25 days go??? Hopefully, I won’t lose anymore!

Brandi
